Dancesport

Leave it on the floor

We are working with the European Same Sex Dance Association (ESSDA) to have our Dancesport Tournament sanctioned as the official ESSDA European Championships 2023. It will be judged according to their rules. Depending on the amount of participants, Dancesport will be a two or three day tournament.

The Dancesport categories are open and senior Standard, Latin, 10 Dance and Showdance. For male/nonbinary couples and female/nonbinary couples, the Standard and Latin competitions will be held as separate Open (+18) or Senior competitions. During an initial qualification round the couples will be classified A, B, C, or D. We still ask you to provide your classification during registration so that we have a general idea how many participants from each level are attending.

The 10 Dance competitions will not be divided into classes. You can only have one partner and therefore dance either the male or female categories.

To compete as a Senior couple, the combined age of both partners must be at least 90 whereas the younger partner must be at least 40 years old on the day of the competition.

Our speaker, tournament leaders, ajudicators and details for our social dance will be communicated on this page by the end of 2022.
